Idris Elba Shares Never-Before-Heard Details of DJing Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Wedding

Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to hit the dance floor at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding? Was Prince Charles doing the cha-cha? Does Kate Middleton know the words to “Uptown Funk”? We have so many questions, but thanks to Idris Elba, we now know a very important detail about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding.

The 46-year-old actor recently visited BBC Radio’s 1Xtra and opened up about what it was like DJing the most exclusive wedding of 2018 (and probably years to come). And while Harry and Meghan’s wedding was no small affair, Elba says the bride took a special interest in cultivating just the right mood.

“Meghan sent me a playlist with some bare tunes on it,” the Luther star revealed. Yep, MM basically moonlights as a DJ it seems.

When asked what sort of tunes Markle asked him to play, Elba went on to explain that “there was some West Coast on it.” He’s of course referencing West Coat rappers like Tupac, Dr. Dre, Martha Stewart’s bestie Snoop Dogg, etc. Markle is a California girl after all.

But when pressed for more specifics by the show’s host, the Golden Globe winner went the classy route and kept things close to the vest.

“I’m not gonna put their business out like that, that’s not fair,” he explained. “Ask Meghan and Harry.”

Hey, we’d love more details about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding, but we sure appreciate a stand-up guy like Elba. You go, Idris.
