Hilary Duff is using this extra time with her son, Luca, very wisely. And by “wisely,” we mean she’s teaching him how to (temporarily) fill in for her glam squad.
The Lizzie McGuire star, 32, shared a series of videos on her Instagram Story, documenting the moment Luca gave her a makeover. “I’m getting my makeup done by an 8-year-old,” Duff explained before revealing the final result.
In the video (screenshot above), Luca didn’t let Duff see her new look until the final reveal saying, “I’m not telling you,” when asked about his inspiration. His secrecy appeared to pay off.
“It’s subtle. It’s unique,” Duff said. “I’ve never done a makeup like this before, but I like it—especially the left upper part.”
Sure, Luca could use some practice obtaining a smudge-free lipstick look. But we can’t deny that the rest of the makeover isn’t too bad. He even managed to give Duff a defined crease, creating a suitable smoky eye (for a night in on the couch).
Duff welcomed her first child (aka Luca) back in 2012 with her ex, Mike Comrie. The actress and her new husband, Matthew Koma, have a daughter named Banks, who was born in October 2018.
Who knows? Maybe Luca will become Duff’s go-to MUA (with a little practice, of course).
