We’ve seen photos of Prince Harry (Charlie Field) and Meghan Markle (Tiffany Smith) in the highly anticipated sequel for Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, but watching them behave like this is an absolute first.
Lifetime just dropped the first official teaser for Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, and it highlights the struggle that Markle faced as the newest member of the royal family.
The trailer shows a montage of clips featuring Markle’s transition from actress to royal family member. “I just feel like I’m pretending to be this beautiful swan,” she says in the video.
But don’t mistake the duchess’s inexperience as lack of confidence. When a woman gives her sass at an event, Markle doesn’t hold back in showing her who’s boss.
“I’m still waiting on that curtsey,” she says.
The first film, A Royal Romance, starred Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser and focused on the couple’s budding relationship. Unlike the original, Becoming Royal will focus on their first year of marriage.
In addition to Smith and Field, the sequel also stars Jordan Whalen (Prince William), Laura Mitchell (Kate Middleton), Maggie Sullivun (Queen Elizabeth), Timothy Temple (Prince Philip), Charles Shaughnessy (Prince Charles) and Deborah Ramsay (Camilla Parker Bowles).
Menhaj Huda (Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance) directed the film, and Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) penned the script.
