Lifetime has finally found its Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the upcoming sequel to Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.
The network recently announced that Tiffany Marie Smith and Charlie Field will play the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal. You may recognize Smith from Supernatural and Jane the Virgin, and Field from Genius and Poldark.
Unlike the first film, which starred Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser and focused on the royal couple’s budding relationship, the sequel will focus on their first year of marriage. Not only will it shed light on what happens behind-the-scenes, but it will also highlight their struggle to balance royal tradition with their beliefs. Menhaj Huda (Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance) will direct the film, and Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) will pen the script.
If it’s as cheesy as the first one, we’ll definitely be adding it to our must-watch list. (You know, for a rainy day.)
Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal is expected to premiere this spring on Lifetime.
