Halle Bailey Celebrates End of ‘The Little Mermaid’ Filming with Brand-New Photo of Herself as Ariel

It's officially a wrap on Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid!

To celebrate the end of production, Grown-ish star Halle Bailey shared a stunning photo of herself as the title character, Ariel, along with an emotional tribute. She wrote, "And just like that..that’s a wrap. After auditioning for this film when I was 18 just about to turn 19, to now finishing filming through a pandemic when I turned 21. We have finally made it..."

The actress continued, "I feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory..it has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt [and] loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as I’ve reached the end. This experience has made me so much stronger than I ever thought i could be."

Like a true sea princess, Bailey is seen relaxing in the ocean against a picturesque sunset in her IG photo. And in the comments, hundreds of fans and celebrities showed their support. Her co-star Jacob Tremblay, who plays Flounder in the film, wrote, "I can't wait for the world to have the privilege to see & hear you as our Ariel. No one else could embody her spirit like you! Hope you get to enjoy some much deserved R&R. Your friend & supporter forever, Flounder aka Jake."

The 21-year-old's sister, Chloe Bailey, also said, "SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!! Now come back home to me!!!!!"

Halle also gave a shoutout to her co-stars in the film, including Melissa McCarthy, who plays Ursula and Awkwafina, who plays Scuttle. She added, "I’m so grateful to have such lovely and talented people in the cast like @jonahhauerking that will be my friend for infinite lifetimes, @jacobtremblay who I’m so proud of and legends like @bardemantarctic @melissamccarthy @awkwafina @daveeddiggs who are masters of their craft but are so welcoming and open to little old me..as well as to the rest of the beautiful cast and crew. I cannot wait for time to speed up so you all can watch this film because it was made with so much love (plus blood sweat and tears) lol. Thank you Sardinia for a wonderful ending!!!"

We may not have an official release date yet, but something tells us it'll be worth the wait.
