The Night King Actor from ‘Game of Thrones’ Revealed a Surprising New Scene in Season 8

The Night King may not speak on the show, but he has *a lot* to say off-camera.

Vladimir Furdik, the actor who plays the Night King (in seasons six through eight on Game of Thrones), recently opened up for an interview about season eight and revealed a scene with Jon Snow that will take place during the final season.

“People will see he has a target he wants to kill,” Furdik told Entertainment Weekly, referencing his icy-blue character. “And you will find out who that is. There’s also that moment [in “Hardhome,” season five, episode eight] when Jon Snow was on the boat and the Night King looked at him and raised his arms.”

“There’s a similar and even stronger moment between Jon and the Night King this time,” he continued. Oh, my seven gods, this is going to be epic. We’re betting this déjà vu scene takes place during the epic Battle of Winterfell that the new trailer teased throughout.

He also said he’s evil through and through. When asked how the Night King came to be, Furdik said there’s a lot of mystery about his past, but it’s clear he wants one person gone.

“Somebody made him the Night King,” the Game of Thrones star said. “Nobody knows who he was before—a soldier or part of [nobility]. He never wanted to be the Night King. I think he wants revenge.” If he wants revenge on the Children of the Forest (who changed him from man to undead ice zombie ruler), then he’s taking it out on the wrong people.

“Everybody in this story has two sides—a bad side and a good side. The Night King only has one side, a bad side,” Furdik said, which goes against one popular theory that he may not actually be evil deep down, but rather a force of destruction like death itself.

So, if you think this story has a happy ending, Furdik thinks otherwise. His favorite scene?

“That’s still coming [in season eight].” Oh, Vladdy. You slay us (quite literally).
