Gabrielle Union Captures Her Daughter’s First Words On Camera: Watch the Video!

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Kaavia, is already expanding her vocabulary at the early age of 9 months.

Yesterday, the America’s Got Talent judge, 46, posted a video on her personal Instagram account, documenting little Kaavia’s first words. The clip features the baby looking directly into the camera and saying, “Bye-bye.” (With some coaching from Union, of course.)

“@kaaviajames speaks!!!! Get ready world. Next stop, #agt judges table! Bye bye,” Union wrote, referring to the popular NBC show.

Kaavia is already making a name for herself in Hollywood. Not only did she make her awards show debut at the 2019 Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, but she also posed alongside her mom for the launch of Kaavi James by Gabrielle Union, Union’s new baby collection in collaboration with New York & Company.

Union and Wade welcomed their first child via surrogate back in November 2018. Shortly after they announced the exciting news, the actress revealed that her daughter’s full name—Kaavia James Union Wade—pays homage to a special person in her life.

“We wanted to include my family in her name, so the ‘James’ is from my uncle James Francis Glass who is also my godfather. Union is her middle name,” she said. “I’ve waited this long so fo sho I was gonna get in there.”

Now that Kaavia has mastered “bye-bye,” we can only imagine what’s next. Maybe “ta-ta,” “so long” or—dare we say—“bye, Felicia”?
