Wait, Is an ‘Easy A’ Sequel in the Works? Aly Michalka Says ‘There Might Be’

It’s been over a decade since Emma Stone blessed us with a modern take on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Scarlet Letter, a film called Easy A. And now, we’re learning from one of the stars that there might be something else in the works.

Aly Michalka, who starred as Rhiannon in the movie, recently told E! News, “There are talks that there might be a sequel.” According to the Aly and AJ singer, it seems like these are not just silly rumors, but actual discussions that seem “semi-real.”

“It would be kind of like a new retelling but you'd see some of the characters from the original come back into the story,” she told the outlet. And if the idea ever did fully come to fruition, it seems like Michalka would be on board. In fact, her sister, A.J., even thinks it would be a great idea.

“I remember really enjoying being on the set, because A, I liked the people a lot. Like all the cast was really fun," A.J. told the publication. "And B, I also liked seeing Aly exercise her comedy chops as much as she was able to in that movie, which you hadn't fully done yet in a film."

Easy A’s official synopsis reads, “Olive, an average high school student, sees her below-the-radar existence turn around overnight once she decides to use the school's gossip grapevine to advance her social standing. Now her classmates are turning against her and the school board is becoming concerned, including her favorite teacher and the distracted guidance counselor. With the support of her hilariously idiosyncratic parents and a little help from a long-time crush, Olive attempts to take on her notorious new identity and crush the rumor mill once and for all.”

Now, all we need is for Stone, Penn Badgley and Amanda Bynes to get on board.
