Be Still Our ’90s-Loving Hearts—There Was a Destiny’s Child Reunion at ‘The Lion King’ Premiere

We always knew the premiere of the live-action The Lion King was going to be epic (with a cast that includes Childish Gambino, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogan and the one and only James Earl Jones, how could it not be?), but we definitely weren't ready for this jelly the reunion of one of most iconic '90s groups of all time: Destiny's Child.

Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams attended the red-carpet event to support their best friend Beyoncé, who is playing Nala in the remake. And as if seeing one of our favorite Disney movies come to life all over again wasn't enough of a nostalgia hit, the women went ahead and wore coordinating outfits reminiscent of the days of "Say My Name." Swoon.

Rowland stuck to the evening's safari theme with a black-and-white zebra-print minidress and matching blazer by Prabal Gurung. Williams elected to go all in with the glitter and glam with a stunning dress by Atelier Zuhra. And Queen B's ensemble (which matched her daughter and date for the evening's look) combined both aesthetics to form one gorgeous, glittering black-and-white dress by Alexander McQueen.

As far as we know, Rowland and Williams were in attendance just to show support for Bey and aren't actually involved with the film themselves. However, we do know that Beyoncé recorded at least one new song for film, so maybe it isn't so wild to hope that there was a Destiny's Child reunion in the studio as well. Might we suggest a powerhouse remix of "Hakuna Matata"?

Luckily, we won't have to wait too long to find out as The Lion King hit theaters July 19. If you need us, we'll just be listening to "Survivor" on repeat until then.
