Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Canadian Getaway Was Organized by...Music Producer David Foster?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry needed some help finding a place to escape for the holidays and, lucky for them, David Foster was happy to oblige.

Yup, the music producer revealed to Daily Mail on Friday that he arranged for the royal couple (and baby Archie) to stay at a mansion on Vancouver Island owned by a close friend.

“I felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian and we’re a commonwealth country, we’re the Crowns. It’s important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment,” Foster said. “I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off.”

“The owner has allowed this to happen through me, and I was happy to facilitate. I don’t know what their next plans are, but I know that it was reinvigorating for them to spend some downtime. This is a great testament to my hometown of Victoria that they were able to go under the radar for so long.”

If you’re like us, you might be wondering just how this friendship came to be. As it turns out, Foster’s wife, Katharine McPhee, went to school with Markle in Los Angeles. And according to one of McPhee’s Instagram posts, the two acted in a ton of musicals together.

“Meghan and I did musicals together as kids,” she captioned the post. “She grew up to be the Duchess of Sussex and I grew up to star on the West End, so same life if you ask me.”

Talk about having a celebrity hook-up.
