Charlize Theron Gives Fans a Sneak Peek of Her Home and It’s So Glam

In the annals of modern movie stars, there's no one that throws back to the days of the silver screen more than Charlize Theron (spiced with a modern, Mad Max: Thunder Road vibe to her work and life). So it's no surprise that her home hits notes of the sleek glamour of yesteryear as well as the comfort of today.

In a recent Instagram slideshow commemorating National Dog Day, Theron shared intimate time with a gaggle of canines in her home, putting her right up there with the best celebrity dog moms. While Theron's cute terrier mixes made commenters coo with appreciation, we were all agog at the home she shares with her pets. Quiet hues such as a putty-toned wall in her bedroom (so restful!) predominate, paired with an upholstered padded headboard done up in taupe linen. And both Theron and the pooches seem to be enjoying white sheets that drape so well, we can practically feel the high thread count from our Instagram feed. Extra points for the fluffy blanket in a champagne hue. Art that's all abstracted brushstrokes on white, with silver and stone accessories? So, so peaceful—especially with the gorgeous curved doorway revealing glossy white-painted built-ins where you can stash any clothes or, say, dog toys you don't want just cluttering up the joint.

But perhaps the hero image of the Instagram series, worthy of our Old Guard heroine herself, is the bath: A free-standing deep-soaking tub in grey-veined white marble stands like an altar. Maybe that's why the dog getting a bath is lifting his paw, as though he's giving a blessing? (And who doesn't love a celebrity bathroom moment, from Gwyneth Paltrow's medicine cabinet shelfie to Jessica Alba's powder room face-washing lesson?) A white towel is neatly rolled and stored in a metallic tubside table and there's a super-feminine piece of art right over the bathtub. We know from previous posts (like this iconic video showing Theron shaving her head for Mad Max) that Theron's bath has a wall mirror with silver sconces over her sink, and a distressed antique European mirror holding a candle next to graphic black-mullioned windows. In short, this whole home is pretty much the gorgeous and girly backdrop any woman would dream of—and especially fun as a home base for a contemporary, strong woman like Theron.
