Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, just shared another glimpse of their grandmother, Cynthia Spencer.
Today, Charles posted a never-before-seen video on Instagram in honor of Cynthia’s heavenly birthday. The clip featured portraits, sketches and memorabilia that belonged to his late grandma, who looked identical to Princess Diana.
In the beginning of the video, the camera pans over two portraits. The second is a black-and-white sketch that looks like Princess Diana…but it’s not. It’s Cynthia.
In the voiceover, Charles talks about his late grandmother and describes her upbringing, saying, “She came from a very privileged background. She was the daughter of an Irish duke. A young debutant, a young society lady.”
The caption read, “On this day, 125 years ago, my grandmother, Cynthia (née Hamilton) was born,” the caption read. “She married my grandfather, Jack Spencer, in 1919, and had a daughter Anne (who lived to be 99), and my father. Although she died when I was 8, 50 years ago, I still remember her incredible warmth and kindness.”
This isn’t the first time that Spencer has shared old family photos on social media. Earlier this month, he posted the same photo of his grandmother. It didn’t take long for fans to notice the uncanny resemblance between Cynthia and Princess Diana.
