When Céline Dion isn’t pushing the boundaries of fashion (read: wearing a wetsuit while shopping) or touring the globe, she’s a dedicated mother to three boys. Yesterday, the 51-year-old “Because You Loved Me” singer took a moment to celebrate her 9-year-old twin boys on their birthday with a sweet photo slideshow.
Dion rang in her sons Nelson and Eddy’s birthday with a thoughtful bilingual caption, wishing them a happy birthday from afar in both English and French.
She wrote, “Double the laughter and double the love. Happy 9th Birthday, Nelson and Eddy! I’m so very proud of my boys. I love you! - Mom xx.” In the first photo, Nelson and Eddy pose back to back while smiling. In the second, they show off their silly sides and make funny faces at the camera.
Dion is currently on her Courage World Tour and made the decision to leave her children at home in Las Vegas, as not to disrupt their lives.
In April, she explained that the boys “will be based in Las Vegas” while she’s on tour. She went on to say, “I’m going to do the world tour but back and forth—I’ll come home as much as possible. That’s going to be the first time that I’m not going on tour with my kids.”
In addition to twins Nelson and Eddy, Dion also shares an 18-year-old son named René-Charles with her late husband and longtime manager René Angélil, who passed away from cancer in 2016 at the age of 73.
Let this be proof that no matter where she is, Céline’s love for her boys goes on and on.
