New ‘Big Little Lies’ Trailer: Will Jane Be Mary Louise’s Next Victim?

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Last night’s episode of Big Little Lies left us wanting more, and while we have to wait another week to see what’s next for the Monterey Five, this all-new teaser is just the thing to hold us over.

After season two, episode two of BLL aired on HBO, the network released a thrilling trailer for next week’s installment, and it appears Mary Louise (Meryl Streep) has her eyes set on a new victim: Jane (Shailene Woodley).

The trailer shows a montage of what’s to come in episode three. While Renata (Laura Dern) and Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling) are still fighting over his imprisonment, Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) tries to mend her relationship with Ed (Adam Scott).

“There aren’t a lot of happy endings for a lot of people, you know?” Madeline says in the clip.

The teaser goes on to show Mary Louise approaching Jane and her son, Ziggy (Iain Armitage), who is technically Mary Louise’s grandson. It’s clear that she wants to get closer to Jane and Ziggy, though we can’t help but wonder about her intentions.

“People can move on after a tragedy…just not together,” Mary Louise says in a voiceover.

The trailer concludes with Mary Louise sitting down with a detective and saying, “You don’t believe my son just slipped, do you?”

So, will Mary Louise welcome Jane into the family? Or will she continue defending her son, Perry (Alexander Skarsgård), no matter the cost? And will the Monterey Five be able to keep their secret from their spouses, their children and—dare we say—the police?

Guess we’ll have to wait until season two of Big Little Lies returns to HBO on Sunday, June 23, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
