The Trailer for Beyoncé’s Netflix Documentary Is Here

OK, ladies, now let’s get in formation…to watch the new trailer for Beyoncé’s Netflix documentary, of course.

The highly anticipated and super-secretive project about Beychella, aka Beyoncé’s historic Coachella performance of 2018, has been introduced in a couple of Netflix teasers. The streaming service finally put out a trailer and gave the documentary a release date (praise Bey!). Here, what to expect from Homecoming, out April 17 on Netflix.

The 1-minute-30-second clip gives viewers a taste of Homecoming, and it looks like it'll delve deep into the preparation for Beyoncé's historic Coachella performance.

Audio from an interview with Maya Angelou serves as the voiceover for the trailer, in which Queen B hopes to “tell the truth” and be a “representative” for her race.

This selection is especially fitting, since Bey's Coachella performance paid tribute to the historically black college experience, and served as a vehicle to introduce her Homecoming Scholars Awards Program.

Beyoncé has given the Beyhive plenty to get excited about in recent weeks: She just announced a new Adidas collab, accepted the NAACP award for Entertainer of the Year (without wearing any pants, naturally), and was crowned with the Vanguard award alongside husband Jay-Z for their continued support of the LGBTQ community at this year's GLAAD Awards.

So, clear your calendars for April 17 and invite your own Beyhive, because our watch party is going to slay.
