‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 Finally Has a Premiere Date

After what could possibly be the weirdest and most confusing lead up to a Bachelorette season, we finally have a premiere date.

ABC recently announced that season 16 of the reality television show will hit small screens on Tuesday, October 13. That means we only have to wait a month and a half more to find out what the heck is really going on in what was supposed to be Clare Crawley’s season.

The announcement also comes alongside a promotional poster that we can only categorize as interesting. Unlike previous posters for the show, featuring sparkly gowns, roses and glam, this photograph shows Crawley in jeans and a chic velvet blazer with a man pulling up his sock. The imagery is a nod to the 1967 hit film, The Graduate, which tells the story of a college grad having an affair with a woman older than him. We get the connection.

Earlier this month, we learned that Bachelor alum Tayshia Adams was replacing Crawley as the star of season 16, per E! News. A source revealed that Crawley found love shortly after the show started filming, which prompted ABC to pursue a new lead.

“The producers have told [Adams] that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors,” the insider said. “Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.”

The drama comes after an already rough start to the new season which already faced filming delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After all of this build-up, October simply can’t come soon enough.
