OMG, Audible Is Turning All 131 ‘Baby-Sitters Club’ Books into Audiobooks (and Here’s Who’s Narrating)

If you grew up in the ’90s, your best friends might’ve included Mary Anne, Kristy, Stacey, Claudia and the rest of The Baby-Sitters Club gang. Flash-forward 30 years and the books are back—in audiobook form.

Audible just announced that it’s releasing every title (all 131 of them) from Ann M. Martin’s popular series on its audiobook platform. The news comes right after Netflix announced a ten-part TV series based on the books. (The dream of the ’90s is alive, friends.)

According to a press release, Martin is excited to see her work in a new format: “I’m thrilled to see that the readership for The Baby-sitters Club continues to grow after all these years,” she said. “And I’m grateful and honored to hear from fans—young and old—who have supported the series with such affection, love and nostalgia for all things BSC. I’m excited that Audible will bring the books to life in a new format for the next generation.”

But you’re probably wondering who will narrate the novels. David Attenborough? Sigourney Weaver? Nope. Elle Fanning (Maleficent) is set to perform the first five stories, with a cast of different women to complete the rest. Fanning said of the experience, “The fierce friendships and babysitting adventures of The Baby-Sitters Club have been so much fun to perform.” Yep, we can imagine.

The series will officially launch on August 13, but you can preorder them now if you’re that excited. (We are.)
