It was pretty shocking to learn that Leighton Meester, former Queen of the Upper East Side, had never branched into fashion design or collaborated with a brand before now. But, oh man, it was totally worth the wait, because it turns out she's a total design pro.

The actress took to Instagram recently to announce her partnership with the sustainable L.A. brand Christy Dawn and the release of the Leighton Jumpsuit. And while we might have assumed Meester would look to her best-known role (and one of the most impeccably dressed women to hit the small screen), the inimitable Blair Waldorf, for inspiration, Meester had someone else in mind entirely.

One of the main influences for the jumpsuit was actually Miss Honey from Matilda, one of Meester's favorite childhood movies. She hoped to combine the fictional teacher's sweet style with design elements that cater specifically to busy moms. Meester has one daughter, 3-year-old Arlo Day, with husband Seth Cohen Adam Brody, and is currently starring in ABC's new show Single Parents, so the challenges of combining motherhood with dressing to impress are likely often top of mind for her.

In an interview with People Meester explained, "Very early on, I said that I was interested in making a jumper, even though [Christy Dawn] is really well known for her dresses. And while I totally love dresses, jumpers are much more practical for me. It's really comfortable and just makes me feel put together—that's what I want as a mom."

The jumpsuit comes in three colors and features a femme bow detail at the bust, a scoop back (don't worry, it can definitely accommodate a bra) and wide legs so you can feel some of that summer breeze as you run after your kiddos. And while the price tag is a bit high ($308), all proceeds from sales of the Leighton Jumpsuit will go to the Downtown Women’s Center, an organization that provides various services for women struggling with homelessness.

So basically this jumpsuit will make you look good, feel good, do good and is Blair Waldorf-approved. Talk about the ultimate wardrobe staple.
