I Can’t Stop Wearing These $26 Leggings from Amazon
It all started when I noticed my friend rocking the most perfect pair of slate gray leggings. They looked like they had been tailor-made to fit her five-foot-six frame, so I figured they were from some luxe athleisure brand like Outdoor Voices. Turns out, I was way off: The leggings were actually a $26 find from Amazon. They were the 90 Degree By Reflex High Waist Power Flex Tummy Control Leggings, to be exact.
They showed up on my doorstep two days after that exchange (thank you, Amazon Prime) and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since. Despite my being five feet tall and a little curvier than my friend, I’m pleased to report that not only do these leggings fit like a dream, but they look just as good on me. They’re also buttery soft, stretchy and snug—but not so tight that they feel like corsets on my legs. Sometimes I even forget I’m even wearing them. Yes, they give you that no pants feeling, while still being socially acceptable. Win!
But these leggings are more than just comfortable. They’re made from 90 Degree by Reflex’s signature ReBound Basic material, a blend of nylon and spandex that makes them moisture wicking and super flexible. The unique material also ensures that they never need to be tugged up mid-workout. One reviewer raves, “They don't roll down or fall down whatsoever, even during intense dance and cardio workouts.” Agreed. Up until I tried this pair, I was certain that mid-rise and high-waisted leggings just weren’t for me. Even my Lululemons would fold over when I sat down on my bike for spin class, or slide down my hips during my evening run. But not these.
And you know that horrifying moment where you bend over in the mirror and realize that you can see your bright pink underwear peeking through your thin leggings? Yeah, you don’t have to worry about that with this pair. They’ve been dubbed “squat proof,” with reviewers confirming “both pairs that I bought pass the squat test 100%” and “no transparency, so wear your brightest undergarments without fear.” So go ahead, do all the squats in these. Or don’t, but enjoy knowing you could.
Perhaps the best part about of owning these leggings is just how many compliments I’ve gotten on them. My dusty rose pair has elicited multiple, thanks to their unique shade, and a friend once stopped me to tell me how much she loved my “Lulus,” which is mind-blowing considering I could buy about four pairs of these for the same price as one pair from Lululemon.
The bottom line? If you’ve been thinking about investing in a pricier pair, give these a shot instead. Your wardrobe (and wallet) will thank you for it.
