What’s 2023’s ultimate kid gift? Glad you asked!

PureWow readers have their finger on the pulse and, according to their shopping habits so far this season, there’s one gift that continues to fly off the shelves: Picasso Tiles ($50).

In fact, according to our shopping data, on Amazon Prime Day, this 100-piece set sold 50 percent higher than 10 other bestselling toys. And it’s not just us, according to Google Trends, searches for this hot holiday item are up more than 50 percent.

The price point helps—consumers seem to be seeking out an affordable alternative to the O.G. Magnatiles, which sell for $120, more than double the cost of Picasso. But whether you go with the name brand or cheaper option, the fact remains that these are just great toys, since they can be used creatively over (and over and over), are fun at just about any age (we’ve seen both 1 year olds and 11 year olds play with them for hours) and (praise be) clean up extremely quickly.

It's worth mentioning that the best uses are actually the ideas not suggested on the box. For example, one day your child might build a super tall castle, but the next day, a set like this might be the gateway to dreaming up an intricate marble run. (We repeat, hours of play come guaranteed.)

What’s that? The sound of your kid gleefully unwrapping this present and busting open the box to begin playing right away? Congrats, you just won the holiday season. (Credit to the PureWow audience for alerting us to this gem.)
