1. She's the star of a brand-new Afrojack music video
The song is “All Night” by Afrojack featuring Ally Brooke, and it’s bound to become your new go-to summer anthem. Tucker confirmed that she was personally contacted by Afrojack, who enlisted her for the music video.
“I’ve actually known Afrojack for a few years,” she told PureWow. “He reached out to me asking if I would like to be a part of the video.”
Tucker revealed the project “really spoke” to her, since it was low-key inspired by the 1983 movie Flashdance. “It’s one of my favorite movies, so I was excited to take on that kind of role,” she added. “The song just makes me want to dance every time I hear it.”
2. She's releasing a single later this month
Tucker is currently signed to Pitbull’s record label, Mr. 305 Inc. Although her music has been slightly delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, she confirmed that her new single, “Hola,” will be released later this month.
“It’s called ‘Hola’ and has a dance-y, Latin-infused beat,” she told PureWow. “It’s really, really, really awesome.”
3. She's always been a performer
Tucker admitted that she’s always been the center of attention, even when she was a little girl. “I’d have friends come over and make them dress up and tell them what they need to do,” she told PureWow.
Over time, she came to realize that showbiz is her true calling. “I love performing in all aspects—whether it’s me on social media or me dancing in someone else’s music video or my own music video. I just truly love performing.”
4. She won the world hip-hop championship
Not to mention, she was only 11 years old at the time. It all started when her mom opened a dance studio in her home state of Florida, where she was able to master the craft. After winning the World Hip-Hop Championship (NBD), she went on to pursue a professional career as a performer.
“I started background dancing for different artists and then kind of became the artist myself,” Tucker said.
5. Her #1 goal is to have fun
“Just be yourself and don’t worry about messing up,” she told PureWow. “People like to see that you’re not 100 percent perfect. It’s more relatable. I feel like the more fun you have with it, the better it is.”
6. She's a sucker for a tv marathon
Although she loves being outdoors, Tucker admitted that there’s nothing more satisfying than curling up on the couch. “I know it’s kind of a funny thing to say, but I like it, especially when I’m in L.A.,” she told PureWow. “After a long day, just being able to sit on my couch and watch a little Netflix.”
7. She's using this time of social distancing to work on her self-care
Tucker is currently self-quarantining with her family in Florida, which is making her appreciate the extra time she has on her hands.
“It made me realize that I need to make it more of a priority for self-care and the things that I love,” she said. “You know, find time to take that hour to go on that hike. Find time in your day to do that work that you want to do. Find time in your day to call your friends that you don’t usually have time to call.”
