This Bank Heist Movie Has Been in Netflix’s Top 10 All Week and It’s Got a Star-Studded Cast

We’re officially one week into 2021 and we’re already looking for new content to accompany our new resolutions. So, when we noticed an unfamiliar comedy/action flick had made its way onto Netflix’s top 10, we knew we had to give it a shot.

Called 30 Minutes or Less, the 2011 flick tells the story of two fledgling criminals who kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to him and tell him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else. (If we’re being honest, it feels like a fictional version of Netflix’s crime documentary, Evil Genius.) While the action movie didn’t receive stellar reviews from critics (scoring a 45 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), it still managed to land the #5 spot on the streaming service’s most popular movies list. Not to mention, it has a star-studded cast.

Keep reading for everything we know.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film’s official synopsis reads, “Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a pizza deliverer who lives a fairly ordinary, boring life—until he crosses paths with two aspiring criminal masterminds, who kidnap him, strap a bomb to his chest and force him to rob a bank for them. Nick doesn't get much time to pull off the difficult task, so he enlists the aid of Chet, his estranged pal. As time ticks away, Nick and Chet face many obstacles, not the least of which is their volatile relationship.”

In addition to Eisenberg, 30 Minutes or Less also stars Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), Nick Swardson (Just Go with It), Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation), Dilshad Vadsaria (Greek), Michael Peña (American Hustle), Jack Foley (Man of Steel) and Bianca Kajlich (Bring it On).

While it may not be Oscar-worthy, you’ll definitely have some good laughs with this cast.
