Unicorn-inspired eye shadow, a statement brow, a heavy contour: There are certain Instagram trends that are difficult to execute at home (and don't exactly translate in the office). Rosy nude makeup, however, we can get on board with—especially as we move into the summer months.
The key to rocking this look is this: Keep the boldest color focused on the eyes and balance the rest of your face with neutral-yet-coordinating shades on your cheeks and lips. And if it still feels a touch too loud for daytime (or, um, life), sheer out the shadow so it gradually fades on your upper lids and skip using it on the lower lash line altogether.
Another tip: Choose colors that complement your eyes. Warmer reds or coppers really pop against brown or hazel eyes (as shown above); whereas cooler pinks and rose tones flatter blue or green eyes. (The makeup artist behind this look recommends this palette from NYX Cosmetics, which holds all of the above hues for less than $13.)
