I’ve always been amused at how different people approach perfume. In college, my roommate used to apply the tiniest dab onto her wrists, and that was it. Me? I prefer to mist a thick cloud and dramatically sashay through it so that it permeates my clothes and hair completely (which I’m sure my roommate loved).
Now, thanks to Jo Malone (you might have heard of her), I’m pretty sure we’ll all be painting on our perfume from here on out. Meet the new Jo Loves Fragrance Paintbrush.
While it’s easy to overdo it with a spray, and rollerballs can be maddeningly stingy, painting on your fragrance gives you full control of how much and where you’re applying it. All you have to do is click the bottom of the brush to dispense the scent (which comes in a clear gel formula) and sweep it over your skin (which dries down in seconds). Not to mention, the unfussy plastic packaging means you don’t have to worry about accidental spills or a shattered bottle in your suitcase. The whole thing is so smart, you wonder why it took this long for someone to come up with it.
Apparently I’m not the only one who’s excited. At launch, the Fragrance Paintbrush already had a 3,000-plus-person waiting list. And two of the four available scents, Pomelo and Red Truffle 21, sold out within the first 24 hours.
