It's challenging enough to draw on the perfect cat-eye or smoky eye, but throw in the hurdle of having hooded eyes, and it's that much harder. Not sure if you have hooded eyes? You'll know you have them if an extra fold of skin covers the crease of your eyelid, making your lid disappear when you open your eyes. Because of it, your masterful eyeliner disappears as soon as you open your eyes normally.

But don't worry. There's a work-around, and folks like Emma Stone, Blake Lively and Jennifer Lawrence have figured it out.

The trick is tightlining.

Here's what you do: Apply eyeliner to the upper waterline (yes, it exists). This helps to fill in the spaces between your lashes and gives you that full eyeliner look that otherwise disappears when your eyes are open. Your eyes will still look defined, but it’ll leave your lids free of actual liner, which means you won't get the smudges.

Finally, dab some champagne-colored highlighter just over the tear ducts for an even bigger bright-eyed effect.
