Your Weekly Horoscopes: July 25 to July 31

Holy wow! We’ve made it to the end of July. This month hasn’t been an easy one in the cosmos or on the ground. A lot of us are wondering if we’re ever going to catch a break (especially now that the sweet relief of the new moon in Cancer on July 9th has long since washed away into the sea). This week won’t necessarily be easy but at the very least, it brings much opportunity for change with Mercury, Jupiter and Mars all moving into new signs. Jupiter’s shift is especially important, as the planet of luck is retrograding back into Aquarius where it was from late December 2020 until May 13th of this year. If you were born with Jupiter in Aquarius (like Barack Obama, Anthony Hopkins or Amanda Seyfried), you’re back in your Jupiter Return (a one in 12-year chance to test your own limits) so get ready for all kinds of leveling up through the end of the year.

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign too will provide further insight.)

12 aries

Mars—your ruling planet—opposes Jupiter before shifting into structured Virgo on the 29th, increasing your energy and inspiring you to get back to your pre-COVID fitness routine. Remember marathon training? Weightlifting? Those grueling private Pilates sessions? It’s time to get off the couch and back in action. This transit (through September 14th) also gives you the courage to cut out what’s no longer serving you at work.

This week’s mantra: Get your head in the game.

1 taurus

Expansion planet Jupiter returns to Aquarius and your career sector on the 28th. After last week’s full moon got you in your feelings about your desire to make a mark on the world, this transit gives you the courage to put yourself out there. For the last few months, you’ve been able to build out your community and networks. Now the question is: Are you ready to lead?

This week’s mantra: You want it? Go for it!

2 gemini

Your ruling planet Mercury is moving as fast as lighting, and on the 27th it joins the sun in bold, glamorous Leo. Under this influence, you’re sending streams of texts, holding court at parties and monologuing to the cashier at the grocery store (yes, even more than usual). Just watch out, because with aggressive Mars entering your home sector on the 29th, your hasty remarks might go over the wrong way during a delicate conversation with family.

This week’s mantra: Live loud.

3 cancer

On the 29th, Jupiter re-enters your shared resources sector and jumpstarts the progress on a business venture you’ve been scheming with a partner or friend. If it seems like everything is coming together too easily, that’s because this is a particularly fated endeavor. With Mars leaving your personal finance sector this week, you’re also feeling less anxious about your own account balance. Just be careful. The vibes are high but that doesn’t mean everything is worth the risk.

This week’s mantra: Trust the flow.

4 leo

Unfortunately, the week starts off a bit rocky. After a weekend of partying, some hangover anxiety on the 25th has you questioning whether you’d be better off going back into quarantine. But your birthday season really heats up on the 27th when Mercury joins the sun in your sign, giving you even more confidence in self-expression. Your head is back in the game and you’re ready to make a statement. Just remember that you’re not the only one who has opinions.

This week’s mantra: This hangxiety too shall pass.

5 virgo

As chatty Mercury opposes life-changing Pluto on the 25th, a scandalous secret about a friend or coworker dominates all of your conversations. This transit wants you to spread the gossip, but take a pause to consider whether you’re harming or helping the situation. Then Mercury shifts into Leo on the 27th, forcing you into a more solitary and reflective state. For now, keep your best ideas to yourself.

This week’s mantra: Say nothing.

6 libra

Last week’s full moon was a reminder that you’d like to fall in love again (or at least find a summer fling). As Jupiter retrogrades back into Aquarius on the 28th, it’s time to rediscover all the options you have. Not just on the apps, but within your current social circles. Mercury’s shift into Leo this week has you feeling confident at every social gathering. Why not ask out that cute friend of a friend and see what happens?

This week’s mantra: “Who wouldn’t love me?”

7 scorpio

On the 29th, your ruling planet Mars faces off with Jupiter, forcing you to finally address an ongoing work/life imbalance. Luckily, the action planet moves into Virgo on the same day, encouraging you to take inventory of everything you have on your plate and build systems accordingly. You have so much to do but you also have plenty of help when you’re ready to ask for it.

This week’s mantra: One step at a time.

8 sagittarius

Your ruling planet Jupiter leaves the lush fantasy land of Pisces for the pragmatic realism of Aquarius on the 28th. From December 2020 through May 13th, you were given the gift of expanding your surroundings, exploring new neighborhoods and building up your tech skills. From this week through the end of the year, you get to return to the exciting local projects that you abandoned to apartment hunt or redecorate in the spring.

This week’s mantra: Back to innovation!

For most of this summer, you’ve felt like you're constantly running behind (or more likely, running on empty). But with Mars moving into your fellow earth sign Virgo on the 29th, you have the opportunity to get back to business and strategize. This transit (through September 14th) is all about your long-term goals—identifying what you want, what you don’t want and making an action plan.

This week’s mantra: Think big!

10 aquarius

Lucky planet Jupiter returns to your sign on the 28th. While the gas giant was in Pisces and your money sector (since May 13th), you were able to build up personal wealth, upgrade your wardrobe and assess what makes you feel secure. Now, it’s time to return to all of that self-care and mental health work that you started at the beginning of the year. This year has been a stressful time, and it’s important to make sure you feel good.

This week’s mantra: Me time!

11 pisces

After a lovely stay in your sign since May 13th, your ruling planet Jupiter retrogrades back into Aquarius on the 28th. With Mars also entering your partnership sector on 29th, the combination of these two transits could leave you feeling out of touch or alienated. Try to avoid picking fights with the people who are just trying to help you. The rest of the year brings a lot of quiet and solitude. Enjoy it now before things get busy again.

This week’s mantra: Choose your own peace.
