When I first heard about Lord Jones’s High CBD Formula Bath Salts, I was skeptical, to say the least. I was telling a friend about my new bubble bath habit (I’ve started taking them multiple nights a week to de-stress), and she insisted that these bath salts made her feel so relaxed, she felt like she could melt right down the drain. “Yeah right,” I thought.
It’s not that I don’t believe in the power of CBD—this roll-on works wonders for my tension headaches—I was just doubtful that adding a scoop of CBD-infused epsom and Himalayan pink salts to my bath could really make me feel more calm. But for some reason, I couldn’t get her description out of my head. So I caved and ordered them.
Then it was time to put the bath salts to the test. Per the instructions, I dropped one heaping spoonful of salts under running water using the included scoop. And after adding a dash of bubble bath for good measure, I settled into the tub with my current read in tow.
A couple of pages into my book, I was floored. My feet and legs began to feel like Jell-O (in a good way) and I could sense the rest of my muscles starting to relax. My mind was also starting to feel different—my racing thoughts were slowing and things felt warm and fuzzy, like I’d just finished a glass of wine.
Wondering if I was experiencing a placebo effect, I gave it a few more minutes. But nope, I was definitely feeling calmer than my usual bubble bath zen. In the name of science, I used the Lord Jones bath salts three more times that week, and each bath left me in the same ultra-relaxed state.
I don’t like being wrong, but I have to admit that the combo of broad-spectrum CBD, epsom and Himalayan pink salts, eucalyptus and citrus essential oils and flower petals really works. In fact, now I refuse to take a bath without using them.
The only downside? The $65 price point isn’t exactly what I’m used to paying for bath salts. But since the brand claims you get 12 scoops per container, paying around $5 per bath isn’t too bad.
Bottom line: These CBD-infused bath salts are like peace of mind in a jar, and I highly recommend treating yourself.
