We’ve never been exactly frightened by Zac Efron…until now.
The actor shed his charming smile to take on a much darker role as Ted Bundy in the forthcoming biopic, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, and, not surprisingly, the first-look photo is pretty eerie.
Efron took to Instagram today to tease his transformation into the notorious serial killer who committed 36 murders between 1974 and 1978.
In a black-and-white on-set image, captioned “Meet Ted #BehindTheScenes,” Efron’s transformation into Bundy is apparent as he poses for a mugshot.
Lily Collins, who plays Bundy’s longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Koepfer in the film, also shared a behind-the-scenes photo today, captioned “Meet Liz.” The Joe Berlinger–directed film explores Bundy’s crimes from her perspective.
No release date has been announced for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile yet. When it does hit theaters, we’ll be first in line.
