We Finally Have an Official ‘Toy Story 4’ Trailer (and a Release Date)

We’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting some more. But we finally got what we wanted during last night’s Super Bowl: an official trailer for Toy Story 4

Disney and Pixar Animation Studios dropped the first full-length trailer where we got a glimpse of some of our favorite toys—and found out exactly what they’ve been up to. Although we’ve already seen two teaser trailers for the film, this was the first time we’ve learned anything about the plot of the fourth installment.

In case you missed it, the first teaser showed some characters holding hands, laughing and jumping to Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now,” and introduced us to a new face in the group: Forky. Then in a “reaction trailer,” we met two new characters (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele).

But, more importantly, let’s break down the latest trailer: Bo Peep (with her new look) and Woody seem to be missing their good friend Buzz, and find themselves at a carnival. (Sounds like a dangerous place for toys if you ask us.) Buzz appears to be trapped, being held as a prize in a carnival game—and he’s not alone. He’s getting picked on by the other potential prizes, aka Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s characters. We aren’t sure where our other favorite toys fit in yet, but we’ll take what we can get for now.

Perhaps the best part of the whole trailer? We finally got a release date. June 21 cannot come quick enough.
