Few duos are more iconic than skating rivals Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. And just like how sports rivalries make good television, ’90s ice skaters make good Halloween costumes (the hair! the colors! the scrunchies!). And fortunately, Pinterest agrees, naming Tonya Harding the “Costume of 2018.”
Always on trend (is that too braggy?), my friend Samantha Watts and I nailed these Tonya (her) and Nancy (me) looks like Tonya nailed that triple axel in 1991. Here’s how you can too:
Hair: Blonde, obviously, in a French braid with a black scrunchie.
Makeup: Bold eye, pink lip, look of despair.
Outfit: The leotard makes or breaks it here: a bold floral print is a must, with skirt. Pair with black stirrup leggings over white sneakers. No jewelry (except a ring on your right ring finger, if you want to get as technical as a Russian judge).
Hair: Brunette, obviously, in a low, curly ponytail with a white scrunchie.
Makeup: Mascara, lip gloss, look of confidence.
