Here’s Why This Photo of Timothée Chalamet & Tilda Swinton Is Going Viral

Timothée Chalamet and Tilda Swinton are the duo we never knew we needed.

Last night, the pair stepped out on the red carpet to promote their all-new film, The French Dispatch, at the Cannes Film Festival. Unlike typical co-stars, who pose for a few pictures before going on their merry way, Chalamet and Swinton were inseparable during the event.

Chalamet and Swinton arrived together, walked the red carpet as a team and then proceeded to sit next to each other in the theater (more on this later). There were loads cutesy photos, but the winner goes to this priceless shot, which features Chalamet resting his head on Swinton’s shoulder.

The internet went bonkers when the photos surfaced online. Some people stated the obvious, writing, “We need to talk about Timothée and Tilda.”

Others turned the photo into an astrology meme.

Of course, the fun didn’t stop there. During the film festival, Swinton took it up a notch and pranked Chalamet with a classic humiliation move. It all started when the audience broke into a standing ovation for the pair’s Wes Anderson movie, The French Dispatch.

Swinton and Chalamet hugged each other before waving to the sea of onlookers. Unbeknownst to the 25-year-old actor, the actress had grabbed her seat-marker sign and stuck it to his back. (FYI: It’s a simple piece of paper with each celebrity’s name that’s taped to the seat, so people know where to sit.) Chalamet proceeded to thank the audience with the page hanging from his Tom Ford coat, while Swinton tried—and failed—to contain her laughter.

From now on, we’ll be calling Chalamet by her name. (Get it?)
