The show must go on! NBC’s The Voice may have paused production in their 18th season, but the popular live singing competition will be returning...with remote live episodes for the first time ever.

Starting Monday, May 4,  host Carson Daly and the show’s four judges (Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas and John Legend) will interact and provide feedback all from the comfort of their homes, and the aspiring talent will do the same. So, how will it work? We have the deets.

The Top 17 artists, scattered across the country, will perform from their own homes, but don’t worry—this isn’t your typical Zoom meeting gone wrong. Just like the live show, each artist had time with their coaches to prepare (we assume remotely, of course) and they are even provided with a wardrobe, choreography, song selections and production kits (aka camera and audio equipment) to enhance the at-home experience.

While a majority of the show will be pre-taped, the Tuesday result episodes will happen in real-time, which means artists will find out live if they’ve been saved for another week and viewers will still get to vote.

"Reinventing the live shows has allowed us to create innovative ways to bring The Voice to life in a fresh and intimate way," said executive producer and showrunner Audrey Morrissey in a statement. "It has been an incredible team effort with the coaches, artists and their loved ones being involved in the process. With Carson at the helm from the stage, we are excited to share a unique Voice experience that will feel both new and familiar."

The Voice will air on Monday, May 4 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, so grab some snacks and get ready for a virtual concert in your living room.
