‘The Masked Singer’ Fans Are Convinced They Know Who the White Tiger Is (and We Think They’re Right)

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

1. Episode 3 Recap

There’s never a dull moment on The Masked Singer, and season three, episode three was no exception. On a Valentine’s Day-themed episode of the hit Fox competition show, the group sang a rendition of Kiss’s “I Wanna Rock N Roll All Nite,” Turtle got praised by his high school teacher and sang Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back,” and Miss Monster belted out Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” after some hints about her identity from her hairdresser. Kangaroo gave us a little “Diamonds” by Rihanna and White Tiger put his own spin on the Queen song “We Will Rock You.” Ultimately, Miss Monster was sent home and was unveiled to be none other than Chaka Khan. (The injustice!)

Miss Monster is gone, but we’re actually having some major *thoughts* about White Tiger’s identity.

2. The White Tiger Theory

Since the season three premiere, fans have been convinced that White Tiger is former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski—and we have a strong suspicion they’re correct. For one, his clue package included the words “Four score and seven years ago,” which is a Gettysburg address reference tied to Boston (where the Patriots play). Four score also means 80 and, with the addition of seven score, it equates to 87—Gronk’s old jersey number. There was also a clam shucking trophy in the clue package, too, which is very New England.

In episode two, White Tiger said, “My motto is work hard, play hard,” “Dancing heals my body after taking a beating” and “I was voted most likely to go to the mat for a friend, and I did, literally.” Gronkowski stepped into the ring at WrestleMania to help his friend Mojo Rawley in 2017 and is a notorious party animal, so he fits the bill. Some speculated that the White Tiger could be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Stone Cold Steve Austin because of the wrestling mentions, but the other clues don’t fit.

Last but not least, White Tiger’s episode three clue package featured his college roommate dressed as a dartboard in a bar with a Route 66 sign. Gronk went to University of Arizona in Tuscon, a city that Route 66 runs through. It’s also worth noting that he’s retired from the NFL, so he definitely has some spare time.

Is the theory true? We’ll have to wait and see when The Masked Singer returns on Wednesday, February 19, at 8 p.m. PT/ET on Fox.
