Netflix Drops New ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Trailer, and It's Hot, Sweaty and Silly

Netflix just released a brand-new trailer for season three of Stranger Thingsand get ready for a bit of CPR...because Billy the Lifeguard is causing heart palpitations.

While last season took place during Halloween, season three will explore Hawkins in the wet, hot, alien-infested summer of 1985. The small Indiana town is gearing up for the annual Fourth of July celebrations (which is also when you can stream season three of the hit show when it hits Netflix on July 4, 2019).

In the new trailer, we get a glimpse of Max's (Sadie Sink) older brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) in all his evil angsty teenage glory. It seems Nancy's (Natalia Dyer) mom, Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono), is even seduced by the whistle-blowing bro.

While the one-and-a-half-minute trailer doesn't do much in the way of plot explanation for season three, we do know from the new photos (released in April) that there's something sinister still lurking in Hawkins, and Eleven will have to use her telekinetic powers to save the town and her friends once again. (Oh, and there will be scrunchies. And ice cream. Right on!)

Netflix released another trailer back in March. Set to the backdrop of The Who song Baba O’Riley, the clip opens up with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Max (Sink), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Will (Noah Schnapp) throwing Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) a surprise welcome home party. But things don’t quite go as planned.

“We’re not kids anymore,” says Mike. “I mean, what did you think, we’re just gonna sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives?” Yep, the teenage angst is real. And the best part? The Dustin/Steve bromance looks as strong as ever.

Happy Fourth of July to us.
