Steve Carell Told Timothée Chalamet *This* Obscure ‘Office’ Fact, and We’re Nerding Out

Have you heard? Call Me By Your Name breakout star Timothée Chalamet is a huge fan of The Office. (Join the club, Tim).

Chalamet (who recently got a haircut, but its totally fine, you guys) is also currently on the press circuit for his new movie, Beautiful Boy, with two of The Office’s biggest stars: Steve Carell (Michael Scott) and Amy Ryan (Holly Flax). So, naturally, he had to gush to Carell about his deep love for the NBC series.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Chalamet told Carell about watching the show with his dad while growing up: “I’d get on my soccer beanbag chair, and he’d lie down next to me, and we’d put on The Office, and we’d watch like three, four episodes in a row, and not hit the ‘skip theme song’ in the beginning, and watch it each time,” the 22-year-old said. Carell then told Chalamet that the Office cast actually voted on the theme song: “We had four different versions of the theme song from different artists, and Greg Daniels, the producer, sent us all versions,” Carell said in the interview. “And as a cast, we voted on what was going to be our theme song. It’s kind of cool.”

Chalamet’s “eyes lit up” with the little-known Office tidbit, according to IndieWire.

That’s it: Can we please get an Office reboot with Chalamet as the new temp? (NBC, call us.)
