Look What You Made Her Do: Sophie Turner Just Wore the Same Dress as Taylor Swift

Sophie Turner and Taylor Swift have a few things in common. For one, they’re both highly successful in their chosen fields. (Ahem, Game of Thrones and ten Grammys, respectively.) They also have been romantically involved with Joe Jonas. (Taylor dated him briefly in 2008 and Sophie, ya know, married him this year.) But their similarities don’t stop there. They also have the same sartorial inclinations.

It all started when Turner, 23, arrived at her husband’s James Bond–themed 30th birthday party wearing the perfect outfit: a low-cut Alexandre Vauthier gown from the 2015 spring collection with a thigh-high slit and a metal choker collar. The sultry number was an apt choice for the theme, especially paired with her sleek bob and metallic mirror-heeled Gianvito Rossi sandals ($995). But fans couldn’t help but notice, when she shared a photo of herself and Jonas posing together, that Swift wore the exact same dress to the 2016 Oscars. 

Turner made no mention of the ironic coincidence in her caption, which read, “Happy Batday Birthman @joejonas [camera emoji] @formerlymiked.” But surely she was aware that Jonas’s 29-year-old ex donned the same gown, necklace and bob combination while attending the Academy Awards.
