Here’s Why Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell Are Having an ‘American Idol’ Reunion

Guys, we never thought we’d see the day where the original (yes, original) judges of American Idol would be in the same room. But thanks to Kelly Clarkson, a reunion between Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell is apparently happening.

The occasion? To appear on Clarkson’s upcoming talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, People confirmed.

The “I Don’t Think About You” singer announced that she was getting into the talk show game back in September of last year. In her first preview she stated, “I love talking, it’s no secret. If it is, you’ve never seen me anywhere.” She continues,“I’d love to see all kinds of guests on the show. All different kinds of walks of life, backgrounds, celebrities, non-celebrities.”

And it’s only fitting that some of her first guests will include the OG AI judges.

“Just seeing how she’s done as an artist and now how she’s progressed on TV, not everyone’s like this by the way,” Cowell, 59, said of Clarkson, while speaking to reporters at the America’s Got Talent taping Tuesday.

If you didn’t know, Clarkson appeared on the first season of American Idol back in 2002 (we feel old) and very quickly rose to fame after winning the competition.

No word on which episode the trio will appear on, but The Kelly Clarkson Show premieres September 9 on NBC.
