Serena Williams’s Response to this Question About BFF Meghan Markle Is Game, Set, Match

Serena Williams is saying thanks but no thanks to ayone trying to get information about her pal Meghan Markle.

On Monday, the 38-year-old athlete, who is currently playing in the Australian Open, took part in a post-match interview following her first-round win against Anastasia Potapova. And of course, her first question was about her BFF’s royal exit.

When asked how she felt about Meghan and Prince Harry's “move” and if she's been in contact with the duo, Williams wasted no time responding (in the most epic way).

“Yeah. I have absolutely no comments on anything with that,” she responded. “But good try. You tried, you did good.” LOL.

Markle and Williams have been friends since 2014 when they met at, of all things, DirecTV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl flag football match. (Yep, before her royal days, Markle played flag football apparently). The tennis star and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, attended the royal wedding and Williams even hosted a baby shower for Markle in New York when she was pregnant with baby Archie.

And while it’s clear the champion won’t be making any public statements regarding the duo’s decision to step down as senior royals, we would imagine she’s being the most supportive friend ever BTS.

Serena, if you’re reading this, congrats on your big win...and this slick response.
