Serena Williams was a real-life superhero on the red carpet at last night’s 2021 Met Gala.

The tennis star arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday sporting a chic bodysuit and elaborate feathered cape by Gucci. She later revealed the look was inspired by superheroes.

The champion exclusively told E! News that her ensemble was “more superhero-inspired—so, like, a bodysuit kind of thing, keep it in that vein of superheroes." And when it came to getting ready, Williams revealed, “It definitely took me a while, it took me a couple of hours.” She also noted that her daughter, Olympia, definitely approved of the feathers.

The bodysuit, which can be seen clearly in an Instagram post shared on Williams’s personal account, features all-white lace with pink stars decorating the bodice. She topped off the look with a massive pink ombré cape, silver shoes and long silver earrings. See the full look below.

And we weren’t the only ones loving the ensemble. One fan commented on the post, “Yes mamacita you're a winner!!!” While a second person added, “So incredibly beautiful. You are Wonder Woman!!”

Williams wasn’t alone on the red carpet. Her husband, Alexis, attended the event with his wife. William's sister, Venus, was also at the gala, however, they spent most of the night apart. For the occasion, Venus looked chic in a red mermaid gown with statement earrings.

We’re thinking superheroes for next year’s theme?
