Salma Hayek Celebrated Her 55th Birthday with Angelina Jolie & Other Pals in New Video

Now this looks like a fun party.

Salma Hayek recently celebrated her 55th birthday, and to mark the occasion, she spent time with some of her closest family and friends, including fellow celebrity Angelina Jolie.

A candid moment from the festivities was shared to Hayek's Instagram account, where she showed herself participating in “la mordida,” a Mexican tradition where the birthday person's face is shoved into their cake to take the first bite while everyone around them shouts “mordida!” (The word literally translates to English as “bite.”)

In the clip, Hayek, along with her brother, Sami, are seen instructing Jolie to help push Hayek's face into the cake. Jolie is overheard saying to Sami, “If you're gonna do it, I'm following your lead.” And while the group is chanting, Hayek shouts, “Do it!” Eventually, the pair push the birthday girl's face into the frosted dessert.

In the caption, Hayek said, “My brother @hayekstudio and me trying to teach Angie how to do the mexican mordida.” She also repeated the caption in Spanish.

While this party looked like quite the exciting time, Hayek has been spending her birthday week in style. The Frida actress shared a shot of herself on her actual birthday, where she rocked a brilliant blue, one-piece bathing suit and stood in front of some lush foliage while chilling in the ocean. In the caption, she said, “Happy 55th birthday to me. Looking forward to new adventures #grateful.”

She also posted another video of some colorful flowers and in the caption, (translated from Spanish) she said, “Very thankful for all the love, expressed in a thousand ways, on my birthday. #grateful #flowers.”

Happy birthday, Salma!
