Watch Reese Witherspoon Taste Test 'Hot Hot' Chicken (It Does Not Got Well)

It appears that Reese Witherspoon isn't *quite* ready to start a spicy food blog.

Our favorite book-recommender just shared a video on Instagram, where she taste-tested Nashville's famous Hot Chicken. Witherspoon teased the video by writing, "This one time I decided to try Nashville’s famous Hot Chicken.."

Check out the video below.

The actress took a trip to Hattie B's Hot Chicken, a restaurant chain based in Nashville, Tennessee, that is famous (as you might have guessed) for its hot chicken. At the beginning of the video, Witherspoon drives to the eatery and asks, "Is it sad that I'm getting so excited and we're just in the parking lot?"

However, Witherspoon quickly changes her attitude, saying: "I also don't like spicy food, so I just wanna preface this whole thing by saying I'm scared." She later adds, "I hate spicy food, did I say that? I've said it like three times? I hate spicy food. But I'm gonna do this...for the people."

Witherspoon's taste test included three levels: mild, medium and hot (or as she categorized it, "mild, spicy and crazy, crazy spicy"). Witherspoon reacted positively to the mild, saying, "I can handle that." Meanwhile, she was very favorable toward the medium, calling it, "So good. Like salty with cayenne pepper. It's really yummy."

When it came time for the "moment of truth," Witherspoon looked alarmed and held up the hot chicken, commenting, "It just even looks different...what do they put on this, like fire?" After taking a bite, Witherspoon had to run to the fridge to get some milk. In the end, she declared, "I'm gonna pass on the hot hot chicken. Medium was my favorite—it's hot enough."

It looks like Witherspoon is going to have to stick to milder food explorations in the future.
