We're Totally Adding Reese Witherspoon's First Book Pick of 2019 to Our Must-Read List

If you’re looking to shake up your reading list in 2019, you’ve come to the right place.

Reese Witherspoon just shared her first book pick of the new year: The Library Book by Susan Orlean (who also wrote The Orchid Thief), which examines the unsolved mystery of the catastrophic Los Angeles Public Library fire in 1986.

The Big Little Lies star, 42, announced the news on her personal Instagram account and wrote, “Ready for my first book pick of 2019?! This month, we’re reading #TheLibraryBook by @susanorlean. This book is a love letter to libraries and made me nostalgic for the long hours I used to spend there when I was a kid. The story follows the investigation of the huge fire that destroyed the Los Angeles Public Library in 1986, and the mystery, history and people that surround it. It’s a captivating story and I can’t wait for y’all to read it with me at @reesesbookclubxhellosunshine!”

See you in three days for a debrief.
