Um, Rachel Brosnahan Just Revealed She’s Been Secretly Married ‘for Years’

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has some, well, marvelous news.

Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Midge in the critically acclaimed Amazon comedy, dropped a relationship status bombshell on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet this past Sunday night, and we were definitely surprised. The 28-year-old actress revealed she and her partner, The Magicians star Jason Ralph, have been married for years.

Although the couple has walked several red carpets together, the status of their relationship has always been private. They even wore wedding bands to the 2018 Emmy Awards, but news of their marital status wasn’t confirmed—until now.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star explained to People during a red carpet interview, “We’ve been married for years and been together for even longer. We had a good laugh when the news came out that we had just got married, like, ‘Happy six-month anniversary, honey!’”

Brosnahan didn’t elaborate on when and where she and her 32-year-old actor husband tied the knot, but we’re hoping she didn’t give a speech about shrimp like Midge. (Although that was pretty funny.)

Aside from the couple’s mic-drop-worthy news, Brosnahan had something else to celebrate. Not only did she take home the Actor award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but she also snagged the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series win.

Before approaching the stage to accept her solo award, she gave her husband a big kiss. Then, during her speech, she said, “Jason, I love you. I wouldn’t be here at all without you. Thank you so much.”

First comes love, then comes secret marriage, then comes two Screen Actors Guild awards and a sweet acceptance speech. That’s how it goes, right?
