The tribute included a solo shot of the prince, looking dapper in a suit as well as a photo of him and his wife, Birgitte. According to Hello! Magazine, the third photo shows the duke at a Buckingham Palace garden party and the last was taken during a visit to Okehampton Camp, Dartmoor in 2017.
Prince Richard is the second son of Elizabeth’s uncle Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, and Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, making him Her Majesty’s first cousin on her father’s side. He and his wife have three children together Alexander Windsor, Lady Davina Windsor and Lady Rose Gilman.
Richard is also a full-time working member of the family and attends national and international events in support of the queen and her duties as Head of State, as well as undertaking extensive public duties both nationally and globally. (He’s also been to every royal wedding.)
Last year, the 95-year-old monarch shared another special post for her cousin in honor of World Architecture Day. In the message, the queen revealed that the duke was a practicing architect and elected a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects during the 1970s, before starting work full-time for Her Majesty.
