Several members of the royal family have shared heartfelt messages honoring the late Prince Philip, including Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince Charles. And now, it’s officially time for Princess Eugenie to pull at our heartstrings.
Yesterday, the 31-year-old granddaughter of Prince Philip posted a special tribute on her personal Instagram account (@princesseugenie).
The slideshow features not one, but two photos of the princess and Prince Philip. The first one shows Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, standing alongside their grandpa. It’s followed by a candid shot of young Princess Eugenie receiving a pat on the head by Prince Philip.
The caption read, “Dearest Grandpa, We all miss you. You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days. People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them.”
It continued, “I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy. I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favorite beer. I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren.”
Princess Eugenie concluded by referencing her grandma, Queen Elizabeth. “Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you,” she added. “With all my love, Eugenie.”
