It’s Official: Princess Beatrice Has Canceled Her May Wedding

princess beatrice wedding canceled

Princess Beatrice just made a difficult decision that will make brides across America say, “Same.”

The 31-year-old royal has officially canceled her wedding with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, which was supposed to take place on May 29. According to People magazine, the couple formally halted their plans as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced the public into self-isolation.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what’s next for the engaged couple. There’s a chance they may privately tie the knot without their guests. A source told the mag that plans are still up in the air.

“There are no plans to switch venues or hold a bigger wedding. They aren’t even thinking about their wedding at this time. There will come a time to rearrange, but that’s not yet,” a spokesperson said.

Princess Beatrice’s wedding was originally scheduled for next month. The ceremony was going to be held at St. James’s Palace in London, followed by a reception in the Buckingham Palace gardens.  The source also confirmed that “the invitations were never actually sent out,” so there’s one less thing to worry about.

Wishing Princess Beatrice and Mozzi all the best as they face the burning question: What’s next?
