Prince William Rocks Green Suede Blazer for Earthshot Prize Awards (& It’s Also a Royal Rewear)

Prince William just held one of the most important events of his life, the first-ever Earthshot Prize Awards. So, naturally, he made sure to bring his fashion A-game.

The Duke of Cambridge stepped onto the red green carpet for the event at Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday. Accompanied by his wife, Kate Middleton, the duo simultaneously turned heads with their unique, yet equally stunning ensembles. While the duchess opted for a lilac gown by Alexander McQueen, which she previously wore to a BAFTA black-tie event a decade ago, William opted for a greener look.

The prince sported a hunter green, suede blazer from Reiss accented with an emerald pocket square. The slim-fit, single-breasted jacket features peak lapels, a single-button fastening and buttoned cuffs. He paired the look with a black turtleneck and matching trousers.

Like his wife’s outfit, William’s ensemble was also a sustainable choice. He previously wore the Reiss piece at Centrepoint’s 50th-anniversary charity gala back in 2019. On that occasion, he paired the blazer with a white button-down shirt and black bowtie.

According to event attendee and Dame, Emma Thompson, guests were instructed to take the sustainable route and wear something that they already own. “On our little notes they said, ‘Please do not buy anything new for this.’ Can you imagine? The relief! So I got my dame suit that I wore when I went to the palace," Thompson revealed according to People.

What a sweet and sustainable idea.
