Prince Harry and Prince William have been tying up the loose ends of their business arrangements after the Duke of Sussex’s decision to step down from the royal family.
According to new documents, future proceeds from the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, which was set up in the memory of their late mother Princess Diana, will now be divided between the brothers’ separate charitable efforts.
From 2013 on, the fund has continuously been paid to the Royal Foundation, which up until recently also represented Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their groundbreaking decision to start their new lives as non-royals, an agreement was signed allocating half of the Diana Fund's future proceeds to SussexRoyal.
The only issue? Harry and Meghan can no longer use the word “royal” in any of their future endeavors and therefore had to dissolve SussexRoyal. However, the new documents say that “their share of the net income will instead be donated to another charity of The Duke of Sussex's choosing.”
