The Cast of ‘Parks and Recreation’ Is Coming Together for a Reunion Special

Our favorite gang from Pawnee, Indiana, is giving us what we’ve been asking for since, well, the Parks and Recreation finale. Yup, a reunion episode is coming to the small screen.

On Thursday, NBC announced that the cast of the hit sitcom Parks and Rec is reuniting for a half-hour scripted special airing on April 30. The best part? The program will help raise money for Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund.

We know what you’re thinking: “Will the entire cast actually be returning?” The answer is, surprisingly, yes. Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, and Retta have all signed on to reprise their roles for the special. And according to Variety, several guest stars from the original series are also set to make an appearance. Sounds like a lot to pack into thirty minutes if you ask us.

“Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money,” show creator Michael Schur said in a statement. “I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes. Our old Parks and Rec team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!”

One question: Will Jerry Gergich be called Jerry, Garry, Larry, Terry or Barry? Our money's on all of the above.
