What's my life's purpose?
It's a daunting question, no? Well, the answer is easier, thanks to a new book by a little-known author (just kidding, you guys) named Oprah Winfrey.
In her latest read, The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life's Direction and Purpose, the media mogul shares her guide to help activate your deepest vision of yourself—essentially, figuring out what you're meant to be doing with your life and making a plan for how to start doing it.
Winfrey says, “Your real job in life is to figure out as soon as possible what [your purpose] is, who you are meant to be and begin to honor your calling in the best way possible.” Wise words, Oprah.
Last year, Winfrey opened up about discovering her own purpose—which didn't include starting a family, but led her to found the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in 2007. By going down a path that was right for her, Winfrey said, "It is more rewarding than I would ever have imagined. I was doing this to help [the students], but it has brought a light to my life that I can’t explain. When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them, because I feel like I am a mother to the world’s children."
Each of the book's ten chapters opens with Oprah sharing personal anecdotes and lessons that have helped her live her best life. She then shares excerpts of interviews she's done with similarly successful folks (like Jay-Z, Ellen DeGeneres and Lin-Manuel Miranda), who share wisdom and insights meant to inspire readers to consider what they’re meant to do in the world and how to pursue it with passion and focus.
According to Winfrey, The Path Made Clear is, "Great for graduates trying to figure out what’s next...or anyone who’s questioning or needs reassurance on the path you’re on now."
Now if you'll excuse us, we're off to order copies for everyone we know (and three for ourselves).
